Pamela Anderson slams monkey testing
After watching a video footage that exposes animals being kept in horrific conditions at the Delhi based, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Baywatch queen and PETA activist, Pamela Anderson has demanded the country’s prestigious research center to free old aged monkeys that have been kept in cages for decades for testing.
On behalf of PETA, the actress raised an issue for the stiff conditions that the animals have been dealing with at the premier health institute. She voiced her concern by shooting a letter to them for subjecting aging monkeys to unnecessary suffering and asked them to pin on modern humane methods.
Angered by the cruelty against animals, Hollywood’s favorite ‘Baywatch’ star has fired off a one page angry letter to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ Director, RC Deka.
“It broke my heart to see the suffering that is documented in the enclosed video. The animals suffering behind closed doors at AIIMS must endure this nightmare every day.
“I was shocked to see that rabbits are forced to live in wire-floored cages; the sharp wire digs into their sensitive footpads and can cause their feet to get stuck,” wrote the actress.
In her letter, she also pointed out that rabbits are rotting with skin diseases and rats wounded without proper veterinary care at the health facility, and some of the animals were also going through a lot of pain with infectious diseases.
Pamela also stated that while watching the footage, she saw the animals crying after workers tried thumping them to the wired cages.
“A monkey is shown climbing the walls and ceiling of the cage in an endless loop, and a rat is shown spinning compulsively. Sick and injured animals, including rabbits, suffering from an infectious skin disease, and rats with wounds, are denied veterinary care.
“A worker roughly overturns the rat enclosures in order to clean them, slamming the animals inside, including a mother rat desperately trying to protect her newborn babies, against the wire bars,” wrote the Playboy model.
They even added that their animals are kept in good living conditions and claimed that the animals suffering from diseases are absolutely false.
Pamela Anderson sues her real estate tycoon ex-boyfriend for $1m
Pamela Anderson has filed a lawsuit against an ex-boyfriend for not following through on an agreement the two made whilst dating.
According to court documents, Laurence Hallier, a real estate tycoon who dated Pamela back in 2006, promised her a condominium in a new Las Vegas development he invested in.
In return she would help publicise the luxury building – The Panorama Towers.
Pamela claimed he told her that if the development was delayed in anyway she would be given $1million in cash and when the project fell behind, she never received her payment.
Pamela filed a federal lawsuit this week with the Los Angeles Superior Court asking for the $1million fee to be paid.
The couple are said to have dated on and off for several years, finally ending their fling last year.
Pamela Anderson in high boots at airport security
As a regular frequent flier, you’d expect Pamela Anderson to be used to America’s ever-increasing airport security.
But the ex-Baywatch star must have be ruing the decision to a wear a pair of thigh-high black boots when she jetted out of Los Angeles yesterday.
The actress, 43, was jetting from LAX to Dallas ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl American football championship when she was told to remove her impracticable footwear.
Despite her celebrity, Pamela is subjected to the same airport security as the rest of us.
American security has increased in airport in recent months in a bid to avert potential terrorist attacks.
The new security measures at US airports – which include ‘pat-down’ techniques and body scanners have been causing controversy in recent months.
But while some people have reacted with fury to the security changes, Pamela graciously removed her boots and walked through the scanners in her tights.
Pamela was boarding a 2 hour 45 minute flight to Dallas, where she hosted a Super Bowl party at the Fashion Industry Gallery last week.

Make-up free Pamela Anderson out in Malibu
Pamela Anderson took the low-maintenance look a little too far on a shopping trip in upmarket Malibu yesterday.
From her messy hair, to her floor-length nightgown-style white dress, it appeared the Baywatch beauty had simply climbed out of bed and got into her car.
The former Playboy model went make-up free, using large sunglasses to cover her eyes.
Once known for having one of the best bodies in the world, the 43-year-old was pictured from behind in a see-through dress which showed she had added a few pounds to her curves.
The mother-of-two appeared to be wearing black Bridget Jones pants underneath the dress. The look couldn’t have been more of a change from the iconic red swimsuit she wore on 90s TV show Baywatch.
The look comes as a change from Pamela’s usual image. The blonde actress has proved a fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs and has modelled on the catwalk for the British designer.
These days, however, Pamela has more on her mind than how she is looking.
She currently lives in a trailer in Malibu with her two teenage boys Brandon, 14, and Dylan, 13, after renovations to her seaside mansion sent her in a financial tailspin.
“You end up getting in way above your head. And then the financial meltdown also affected me – from princes, to countries you never thought would go bankrupt, people were not paying me for services’, she explained of her troubled money situation.”
“But now I’m fine. I’m back building again”.

Pamela Anderson will host a Super Bowl 2011 party entitled SuperBash!
Pamela Anderson is getting the party started! On February 4th, she will be taking over the Fashion Industry Gallery (FIG) in the heart of downtown Dallas and hosting THE Super Bowl XLV party: SuperBash 2011. Past attendees include Jim Carrey, Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, Jenny McCarthy, and John Travolta.
General admission is $250 and VIP is $500. Table packages are available from $6,500 to $15,000. Pamela Anderson joins kids in the Shepp Shed
HOLLYWOOD star Pamela Anderson appeared in country Victoria yesterday when she was beamed into a student theatre rehearsal.
Shepparton youths got the thrill of their lives when the famous blonde chatted to them online through Skype.
Anderson, a champion of children’s and animal rights, had accepted an invitation to speak to youths performing in the musical Ghost Gum High, by the Shepp Shed project.
“It was just incredible. I had tears rolling down my cheeks when all the kids sang to her,” project manager Janet Congues said.
“Pamela engaged with them straight away. She was so warm and genuine and down to earth.”
The Shepp Shed project is part of a growing worldwide trend to get creative brains from Broadway and London’s West End to put on quality shows with troubled teens.
About 70 youths from a mix of cultural backgrounds are involved with Ghost Gum High.
It explores the story of William Cooper, an indigenous Australian who fought against injustice.
Pammie, Van drove hotel staff crazy!
Rocker Van Morrison and Hollywood bombshell Pamela Anderson developed an unlikely friendship when they met during the festive season at the Bath Spa hotel.
The two were spotted enjoying walks together and drove the hotel staff crazy with their bizarre demands.
Sources say that the notoriously grumpy 65-year-old rocker Van – who is married and has an apartment in the Georgian city – checked into the hotel when the former Baywatch star was staying there.
“They walked together a couple of times and seemed to get along rather well but they were checked into different rooms,” a source said.
While staying at the hotel, the diva-like demands of the pair caused staff headaches.
“All Pamela wanted to eat was asparagus and mushroom Cup-a-Soups,” said one worker.
“We didn’t have any in the hotel so my colleagues had to go to the shops for her. She’d eat them in her room.
“Van was different. He’d ring down from his room and tell us what he wanted and where from. It was always Italian food and it always had to be from one of the local restaurants. We had to go out in our cars and pick his food up, then take it up to his room,” the worker said.
Pamela also indulged in a bizarre beauty routine – taking ice baths. Staff had to carry ice up to her room twice a day.
“Pamela drove us mad with her constant demands for ice baths. She told us it stopped her aching and kept her feeling young,” said the staff member.
“Van, on the other hand, spent an hour a day in the gym. He didn’t use the personal trainer, he worked out alone,” the source added.

Pamela Anderson has made a new video promoting PETA causes with an airport security checkpoint theme. But Hong Kong Airport won’t be playing the video, because it has been deemed too racy.
“Given the groping that you see at security checkpoints and the nudity that you see in body scans we’re surprised that our lighthearted ad was deemed too risqué”, said Jason Baker, PETA Asia’s vice president.

In the video, Pamela is a half-dressed airport security checkpoint officer who gives the yea or nay to passengers according to whether or not they’re wearing fur, leather or other animal skins.
Steve-O, a star of the “Jackass” series and movies, appears in the video as a passenger going through the checkpoint. He is manhandled by Pam for wearing a leather belt, which she strips off of him in a provocative manner.
One couple does manage to pass through the security check without a glitch – they are completely nude. Their naked tushies are shown on screen and were probably what crossed the line for JCDecaux, the ad agency responsible for what airs in Hong Kong Airport.
Pamela signs drunken fan’s chest
It was a dream that came true for some fans that bumped into Pamela Anderson outside her hotel and got the former “Baywatch” bombshell to autograph their hands and chest. The group of festive revelers looked completely stunned to have stumbled upon the 43-year-old actress returning to her hotel after performing in pantomime Aladdin in Liverpool on Wednesday night, and couldn’t let go of the opportunity to have her autograph.
Pamela, who shot to fame as CJ Parker in Baywatch, was happy to oblige, grinning as she used a huge black marker to sign her name on one man’s chest, and another’s hand, before going into the hotel.
Meanwhile, Pamela, who is appearing as the Genie of the Lamp in the production at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre, has attracted the attention of an unwelcome, over-eager fan.
The actress has had to hire extra security after the fan bought tickets to see her in Aladdin 10 times in a row, and regularly kept waiting outside to catch a glimpse of his idol.
Pamela Anderson thanks PETA bosses for her award
Pamela Anderson has thanked officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) after she was named their Person of the Year 2010 – and she’s stepping up her campaigning following a meeting with Sir Paul McCartney.
The former Baywatch beauty was honoured for her tireless animal rights work over the last 12 months, and she’s now revealed that during her time in the U.K. performing in a traditional holiday pantomime show, she took the opportunity to hold talks with the Beatles legend.
MCCartney is a longtime campaigner on the issue and wrote to Pamela in 2009 urging her to lend her support to vegetarianism – and he met with her backstage at his concert in Liverpool in December.
She says, “I’m so tickled to be PETA UK’s person of the year. I’ve never met a vegetable I didn’t like and I even included a pro-vegetarian line in my panto performance – I always find a way to speak up for animals! I’ve loved spending time in the U.K. in 2010, and particularly Liverpool where it was my pleasure to share a drink with fellow vegetarian Sir Paul MCCartney backstage at his intimate show… Thanks so much once again PETA for the honour.”
